Louisa Sawyer Lindquist - Biography

Louisa Sawyer Lindquist grew up on the East Coast, but decided to take a year off before college to work in Yosemite National Park in California. While spending the days hiking in the wilderness, she and her friends would spend their evenings around the campfire sipping wine.  Louisa found wine to be her passion and decided to pursue an education geared to the wine business.

Louisa returned to college in New York and soon found a job in the wine business through a college co-op program at Hargrave Vineyard, the first commercial vineyard on Eastern Long Island. After graduating, she worked in a vineyard and made wine on a small experimental scale. To complete her education, Louisa began selling and marketing wine, and eventually moved to San Francisco to further her knowledge. It was in this time that she and Bob Lindquist began dating, and Louisa eventually began working with Bob doing marketing and sales for Qupé Wine Cellars. They married in 1997 and now have a son, Theodore.

Today Louisa is creatively involved growing and producing Tempranillo and Albariño under her label Verdad, and continues to work closely with Qupé. Louisa and Bob have recently bought vineyard property in Edna Valley and have moved to San Luis Obispo.
